Gynacantha mexicana, Bar-sided Darner. I found this darner at dawn, trapped at an exterior light, where it probably had been stuck since dusk. I took some in hand photos and posed it on a tree. After a few minutes of vibrating its wings, it flew into the woods. Two days previously Greg Lasley and Martin Reid had photographed  two of this species a short distance away near the Rio Grande.
