Soldier's Delight, Baltimore Co. MD

Tiny seeps in the Serpentine Barrens provide habitat for two specialized seep odonates, Seepage Dancer, Argia bipunctulata, and Yellow-sided Skimmer, Libellula flavida. Both species have a very localized distribution in Maryland. Widespread species that also utilize the seeps include Variable Dancer, Powdered Dancer, Ebony Jewelwing, and Painted Skimmer.
